Your guide to building a sustainable healthy lifestyle

I’m so glad you’re here! With each newsletter you will receive easily digestible tips regarding fitness, exercise, nutrition, meal prep, and much more!
A healthy lifestyle that produces lasting results is 100% possible, and my goal is to show you how you can achieve just that…it’s probably simpler than you think. I’m here to teach you that wellness doesn’t have to be complicated or boring. You can be excited about moving and fueling your body in ways that are sustainable for your unique journey.
So let’s dive in! Today’s topic covers tips for exercising on vacation or while traveling. With summer in full swing, I’m sure a lot of you have trips planned over the next few months.
First, let me stress something very important : There is nothing wrong with taking a week off your workout routine while you’re on vacation. Remember, balance and flexibility are crucial to building a sustainable healthy lifestyle. The purpose of this newsletter is simply to give suggestions to those who do want to workout on vacation or those who travel frequently for work or any other reason.
Now let’s get to it! Keep reading to discover ways to stick to your exercise routine while traveling.

Research ahead of time – Most hotels and resorts have a gym or fitness center on site. Before you go, research the place you’re staying to see what is available.

Think outside the box – You don’t need access to a gym to exercise. Especially when you’re on vacation, sometimes it’s good to switch things up! Walk/run on the beach, or go for a hike. If your vacation spot provides the facilities, play tennis, basketball, pickle ball, etc. Go swimming, or rent a bike for a day and explore. There are many ways to get moving outside of the gym!

Take your own “gym” – No matter where you’re staying, you should have room for a workout mat. Obviously, you don’t want to lug dumbbells around in your suitcase, but resistance bands are a small and effective way to add spice to your workouts. Pack your mat and bands for a gym-to-go, and you’ll always have a way to get in your workout. Check out my favorite resistance bands here.

It’s easy to fall out of our routine when we’re in a different environment. But if we’re committed to regular workouts, it is possible to get it done anytime anywhere. A little creativity may be required, and we may have to mix things up, but travel doesn’t have to mean we pause our workouts. They just might look different than our normal day-to-day…and that is absolutely OK!
