Your guide to sustainable wellness

I’m so glad you’re here! With each newsletter you will receive easily digestible tips regarding fitness, exercise, nutrition, meal prep, and much more!

A healthy lifestyle that produces lasting results is 100% possible, and my goal is to show you how you can achieve just that…it’s probably simpler than you think. I’m here to teach you that wellness doesn’t have to be complicated or boring. You can be excited about moving and fueling your body in ways that are sustainable for your unique journey.

Today we are chatting about the importance of hydration. It might surprise you to know that nearly 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. That is a staggering majority! Water is not just a thirst quencher; it’s the foundation of our health. Our bodies are composed of about 60% water. Every cell, tissue, and organ relies on it to function optimally.

I’ve seen firsthand how proper hydration can transform performance. Whether you’re hitting the gym, going for a run, or just tackling your daily tasks, staying hydrated boosts energy levels, enhances focus, and aids recovery.

So how can you ensure you’re staying hydrated? Here are a few tips:

  • Drink at least 12 cups of water per day : This may sound like a huge amount of water. If you’re not used to drinking much water each day, slowly work your way up. Start with 6 cups a day and increase over time. It may go down easier than you think, especially if you use a large cup or water bottle. I like my 32 ounce cup because only 3 each day gets me 12 total cups.
  • Carry your water bottle with you : Keep it within reach to remind yourself to sip throughout the day. Eventually, it will become a habit – you may even find yourself reaching for it without thinking about it. Mine has become like another appendage, and I feel like I’m missing something when I don’t have it.
  • Set reminders : Use your phone or apps to nudge you to drink water regularly. An external reminder can be very helpful in building a new habit of any kind.
  • Infuse your water : A lot of us enjoy mixing up our beverages throughout the day. If you’re tired of drinking plain ol’ water, add fruits or herbs for a flavorful twist that makes hydration enjoyable.

How do you ensure you’re drinking enough water? I read and respond to all emails, and I’d love to hear from you.

Until next time, have a Swell Day!
